Guest House and Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Snowdonia
Dolffanog Fawr is an 18th Century farmhouse that has recently been thoroughly renovated and converted into one of the finest small luxury bed and breakfast guest houses in Snowdonia. The house is situated in the heart of the stunning Tal-y-llyn valley. With views across sheep pasture to Tal-y-llyn lake, and Cadair Idris virtually rising from the back garden, you couldn’t wish for a more spectacular setting.
We (Alex, Lorraine and our rugby mad son Morgan) pride ourselves on creating the perfect bed and breakfast accommodation and an exceptionally high standard of comfort and cleanliness. All 4 ensuite rooms at the guest home, named after local rivers, are simple yet stylish, neutrally decorated with woollen carpets, local artwork & Melin Tregwynt throws. Large beds with top end pocket sprung matresses & crisp Egyptian cotton together with clean Welsh mountain air make for a sound nights’ sleep.
In the 14 years we’ve been here, Dolffanog Fawr has gained a 5 Star rating and the prestigious Gold Award from Visit Wales.
The guest house has also received the Trip Advisor Centre of Excellence Award every year it’s been awarded and for this year the much coveted Travellers Choice Award too. We are particularly proud of this as, unlike many places, we never chase reviews.
You’ll find the dining experience is one not to miss during your stay at Dolffanog Fawr guest house in Snowdonia.
Our superb breakfasts and evening meals use the best of local produce and we have an extensive good value wine list to match.
We believe in sourcing good, local ingredients, in turn supporting local suppliers and keeping food miles to a minimum.
To relieve weary limbs after a hard day in the hills (or to just sit and enjoy a glass of wine) you are welcome to make use of the hydrotherapy spa in the garden.
