Luxury Guest House and Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Snowdonia
Dolffanog Fawr Covid 19 Statement 2023
Dolffanog Fawr is an 18th Century farmhouse that has been beautifully renovated and converted into a five star and Gold award-winning bed and breakfast guest house near Tal-y-llyn in Snowdonia. Located in the heart of the stunning Tal-y-llyn valley the B&B boasts stunning views across sheep pastures down to Tal-y-llyn lake while Cadair Idris rises spectacularly virtually from the back garden. If you are looking for a tranquil and peaceful accommodation in Snowdonia that’s surrounded by nature, then you couldn’t wish for a more idyllic location.
We (Alex, Lorraine, and our sports mad son Morgan) pride ourselves on creating the perfect bed and breakfast experience for our guests and delivering an exceptionally high standard of comfort and cleanliness. All four ensuite rooms at the guest house, named after local rivers, are simple yet stylish, neutrally decorated with woollen carpets, local artwork & Melin Tregwynt throws. Large beds with top of the range pocket sprung mattresses & crisp Egyptian cotton together with clean Welsh mountain air make for a sound nights’ sleep.
Dolffanog Fawr is among the top-rated
luxury B&B accommodation in Snowdonia and North Wales, with a 5-Star rating and the prestigious Gold Award from Visit Wales.
Our bed and breakfast has also received the Trip Advisor Centre of Excellence Award every year it’s been awarded. We are particularly proud of this as, unlike many places, we never chase reviews.
Our superb breakfasts and occasionally available evening meals make the best use of the local produce. We firmly believe in sourcing and serving the best local ingredients, in turn supporting local suppliers and keeping food miles to a minimum.
Our luxury accommodation is ideally situated for walkers looking to scale Cadair Idris and the surrounding hills and mountains of Snowdonia. Mountain bikers will love our proximity to Coed y Brenin, Nant yr Arian and the Dyfi forest which promise epic days out in the saddle and some of the best flowing single-track riding in North Wales.
Soothe aching muscles after a day in the hills and mountains of Snowdonia with a relaxing soak in our luxury hot tub in the garden. Make use of our well stocked honesty bar and sit and enjoy a nice glass of wine or local beer while taking in the stunning views and chatting to other guests.
We’re a short drive from the beautiful coastal towns of Tywyn, Barmouth, and the village of Aberdyfi where you’ll be able to enjoy a range of water sports from Stand Up Paddleboarding and sea kayaking to boat tours and fishing. Our prime location makes Dolffanog Fawr the perfect accommodation to explore the diverse beauty of Snowdonia and enjoy a relaxing or action-packed stay.
Following on from the covid 19 pandemic, to minimise contamination, we will be continuing with our policy of not servicing bedrooms during your stay. Should you, however, wish to have your room ‘freshened up’ daily during your visit please let us know. For longer stays (5+ nights) we generally aim to change bedding and towels after 3-4 nights.
Please note, Dolffanog Fawr B&B is near Tal-y-llyn in a rural and peaceful countryside location. Should you be interested in drinking heavily, playing loud music and partying all night we’d suggest you find somewhere more suitable.
